2023 President's Cup

The President’s Cup will be palyed over 4 rounds. The draw will be placed in the Pro Shop, Office window and Noticeboards.

It is the responsibility of the highest grade player to contact their opponentr and the winner is to place their name on the draw.

ALL ROUNDS TO BE COMPLETED BY WEDNESDAY 13TH SEPTEMBER WITH THE FINAL TO BE PLAYED SATURDAY 16TH SEPTEMBER

If a player is unable to play on the arranged day, they will forfeit the games unless another day can be arranged.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

1.Entries: The Closing Date for Entries is Saturday 5 August 2023 and must be submitted to the Tournament Secretary on the official Club Entry Form. (Photocopies/facsimiles or entries via the MVGC App will be acceptable). All entries must be accompanied by players Golf Link Number. 

2.Entries will be restricted to MVGC Male members. Maximum Handicap – Men 54.

3.The Match Committee may, in the event of bad weather, or any other reason, either shorten the contest or fix another day.

4.The competition shall be played in accordance with the Rules of Golf as adopted by R&A Rules Limited, together with such local rules as are in force on the course over which the competition rounds are being played. If any dispute arises on any point, it shall be decided by the Match Committee whose decision shall be final.

6.Motorised Transport may be used during the competition.

7.Pace of Play: Rule 6-7 will be strictly enforced. Each group must maintain its position with respect to the group preceding them. Any group with a clear hole in front of them will be considered out of position. Penalties will be issued to individuals in such groups who by their pace contribute to such delay. Warnings may not be issued prior to penalties.

8.Players and Caddies must observe the dress standards of the Melton Valley Golf Club.

9.During the event a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only. However, if during a round, a player uses a distance measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect their play (eg, gradient, wind speed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional functions are used.
